HIS Travel Becomes Official Tourism Sponsor of Turkey's Fastest Marathon

Marathon Izmir, which is shown in the list of the world's best 100 marathon race course , is among the most eagerly awaited sports competitions to be held in 2022. In this content, we will talk in detail about Marathon Izmir, Turkey's fastest marathon which is organized by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and HIS Travel is the official tourism sponsor.

Maratonİzmir will be organized with the theme of “Hand in Hand for a Sustainable World”

Maratonİzmir, one of the marathon races that is identified with the cities it is run in the world and plays an important role in their branding, was organized for the first time on 4th of October 2020, and secondly on 11th of April 2021. Maratonİzmir, which will delight sports enthusiasts this year, will be held for the third time in April 2022.

The theme of the marathon which has unique running race course was built on “Sustainability” that will cover this year and the next few years. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality started to prepare meticulously for this magnificent sports event MaratonIzmir, aimed to be among the few marathons in the world in the future.

Taking action to further integrate the marathon with the spirit of İzmir, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality will also sign a social responsibility project within the scope of Maratonİzmir. The Charity Run, which is a successful fundraising method used to support non-governmental organizations (NGOs) all over the world, will be held in Maratonİzmir to raise awareness and contribute to the solution of the problem.

Holding the title of being the fastest marathon race course to date, Maratonİzmir's promotional stand were held at Istanbul Marathon and Sport Fair which took place at Architect Kadir Topbaş Show and Art Center during 4th, 5th, and 6th of November.

When Will the Maratonİzmir 2020 Be Held?

Marathonİzmir, which will be colorful with the participation of athletes from all over the world, will start on 10th of April, 2022. The marathon run event, which will be the scene of very exciting and competitive struggles due to the record expectation, the 10K run will be held at 07:20 and the 42K run will be held at 08:00.

Where Will the Maratonİzmir 2020 Be Held?

So, where will the race course of this magnificent organization take place, let's answer your question right away. The 42km race will start in front of the Fair Kültürpark İzfaş Building located at Şair Eşref Boulevard, and the first turn will take place before arriving at Karşıyaka Bostanlı Pier, and it will make the second turn from Izmir Marina at the entrance to Haydar Aliyev Boulevard and will end at the starting point in front of the Fuar Kültürpark İzfaş building.

The 10km race will start from the opposite lane of the Fair Kültürpark İzfaş Building located at Şair Eşref Boulevard and turn from Köprü Tramway stop on Mustafa Kemal Coastline Boulevard and end at the starting point on the opposite lane of Fuar Kültürpark İzfaş building.

The public will also be able to participate in the marathon. At Marathonİzmir, out of the 42k and 10k race course this year; The 9 September Half Marathon will also be held in Martyr Lieutenant Kubilay Road Race, 19 May Road Race, Women's Race and Run to Your Loved One categories.
