Foreigners can take HES code by accessing the section for Ministry of Health (turkiye.gov.tr/saglik-bakanligi-hes-kodu-uretme-ve-listeleme) through E-Government Gateway (turkiye.gov.tr) with their Foreign Identity Numbers.

Foreigners can take HES code via SMS with their Foreign Identity Numbers if they have the phone line from any registered GSM companies operating in Turkey. For this, the procedures that should be done by foreigners are as follows:

• First, it must be accessed to the text message (SMS) section of the mobile phone.
• As the text of the short message, ‘HES’ should be written in capital letters.
• Then, there should be a space between the Foreigner Identity Number, the year of birth and the validity period of the HES Code in terms of days. (Example: HES 987654321 1981 120)
• Finally, the text message should be sent to 2023.
• The HES code will be automatically sent to the phone via SMS.

How to Take HES Code with Passport?

Foreigners can only use text message (SMS) to get HES Code by using their passport. It should be noted that this step is only valid for those who do not have a Foreign Identity Number. Foreigners can generate HES codes by sending their passport information to the 2023 as SMS. The procedures for foreigners to receive HES Code by sending SMS are as follows:

• First, it must be accessed to the text message (SMS) section of the mobile phone.
• As the text of the short message, ‘HES’ should be written in capital letters.
• Then, there should be a space between Nationality Code, Passport Number, Year of Birth and Surname. (Example: HES RUS 987654321 1973 SMIRNOV)
• Finally, the text message should be sent to 2023.
• The HES code will be automatically sent to the phone via SMS.

What Should Be Considered About HES Code?

• The validity period of the HES code must be the total duration of the trip.
• A separate HES code must be taken for each guest traveling.
• HES code is not required for 0-2 year-olds.
• HES code must be shared with the travel company before and during travel. If there is a situation that prevents you from traveling within the scope of the epidemic, your trip may be canceled.
